Now our youngest little princess got the official name; Silvercomet Black Swan! She’s very pretty and calm girl with lovely strong head and excellent spots and lovely warmly tawny contrast. Now she’s 520g heavy - Mimosa was a bit under 400g when she was 3 weeks old so it seems that Kielo will grow up for very big female, as like than her mom, Helinä, who’s usually 5,5kg heavy female.

I have just updated the pictures up FI*silvercomet profile, in Facebook you can go there and look at recent photos in the kitten:) Little girls have grown really well, Kielo learning to eat when followed by a “big sister“ when it began to eat. Both are by nature quite different, and the Mimosa is a lively and likes to be involved in all and Kielo is quiet again, and likes to observe the situation before it starts to play.

Mimosa is going next week on Tuesday for the first time with the vet, where Mimosa will vaccinate. Kukka is going at the same time also be sterilized. Kukka will move to Kuusamo on end of May and at new home is waiting also her full-brother, Elvis.

I still have school in 5 weeks, then hopefully I will graduate in finance college graduates. Yes, it is now time for a lot of hurry up with the school when there is a lot of tasks and the other millions of things that have to do or get in shape. Yes, a student can be stressful too so don’t wonder if I didn’t answer to your emails, etc..

But, anyway, both girls; Mimosa and Kielo, are available.

Kissalamme on saanut uuden tulokkaan; Helinä synnytti yhden kauniin ruskeatäplikkään naaraan, Kielon, 7.4.2011 aamupäivällä 68. odotusvuorokauden jälkeen. Poltot alkoivat jo viideltä aamulla, mutta itse synnytys alkoi tapahtua klo 9.30 maissa, Kielo syntyi maailmaan takajalat edellä, jalat olivat näkyvissä ainakin lähes tunnin. Piti sitten “avustaa” Helinää saattamaan Kielon maailmaan, Kielo putkahti maailmaan siinä klo 11 maissa. Helinä ja pentu voivat hyvin jo samana iltana. Nyt 11. pentue saa kunnian jatkaa myös “kukkateemaa”, joten pennun kutsumanimeksi tuli Kielo. Kielo onkin kaunis tumma ruskeatäplikäs kielonuppu. <3

Nyt kun Kielo on neljän päivän ikäinen niin huomaa, että tällä on todella tomera luonne ja osaa määräillä tarmokkaasti, että Helinä kipittää pesään imettämään tätä. Tämän johdosta paino onkin noussut eittäin tasaisesti, Kielo painaa pian jo 200g, on enää noin sata grammaa vaille 200g. Tuo on kyllä erittäin hyvä tämänikäiselle tytölle! Kukka on alkanut myös hoivata Kieloa, tai ainakin yrittää, mistä Helinä ei oikein tykkää ollenkaan. Helinä päätti jo heti ensimmäisenä päivänä “hylätä” tälle tekemäni pentuhäkin ja asettui Kielon kanssa sohvalle, joten täytyi tehä sohvasta vauvaturvalliseksi sekä asettaa ison iglun päätyyn, missä Helinä voi olla rauhassa penun kanssa.

Kielo on kyllä luonteeltaan erilainen kuin Mimosa, erittäin tomera ja voin veikata, että tästä kasvaa myös erittäin tomeraksi tytöksi. Tietää kyllä, että miten herättää äitinsä huomion. Jos nyt odotellaan muutaman viikon verran niin Mimosa saisi Kielosta leikkikaverin, mutta on kyllä alkanut yrittää leikkimään Kielon kanssa, mihin sitten Kielo närkästyi ja huutelee Helinä-emoa apuun. Suloinen tyttö!

Mimosa täytti toissapäivänä viisi viikkoa! Aika on todellakin vierähtynyt erittäin reippaasti ja huomaamattomasti. Minulla oli kiirettä työharjoittelun ja opinnäytetyön parissa kun valmistun (toivottavasti!!) nyt keväällä, joten blogia ei ole päivitetty aktiivisesti, pyrin korjaamaan asiaa jatkossa! Mimosa on luonteeltaan erittäin ihana tyttö! On kiintynyt minuun valtavasti; tulee aina heti vastaan jos aukaisen pentuhuoneen oven iloisena häntä pystyssä. Ruoka maistui heti alusta hyvin ja hiekkalaatikon opetteluun meni muutama päivä kunnes Mimosa päätti, että aikuisten vessat kylpyhuoneessa on parempaa kuin pentuhuoneessa oleva vauvoille tarkoitettu pieni hiekkalaatikko. Kipittää jo hyvin muissa huoneissa asunnossamme ja asettuu mieluitenkin seikkailun jälkeen syliini tai olkapäälleni nukkumaan, joka on osoittautunut Mimosan lempinukkumapaikaksi.

Kun olen seurannut Mimosan kasvua niin näen pikkuprinsessa on erittäin lupaava; kontrasti on ihmeellisen kaunis ollakseen suklaatäplikäs ja täplät erittäin suuria ja standardimuotoisia. Pää on erittäin kaunis, jännityksellä jään odottamaan vielä Mimosan kasvua, mutta toiveena olisi, että Mimosalle löytyisi mahdollisesti näyttelyistä kiinnostunutta kotia. Luonne on myös ihan kympin luokka, on selvästi perinnyt aurinkoisen luonteen isältään, Ikeltä.

Kukka, Riku ja Mimosa

Nyt on selvää, että Helinälle ei riitä Kielo. Vaan hän on ottanut Mimosan siipiensa suojaan kun Kukka aloitti juoksun viime viikolla, joka onneksi loppui lyhyesti. Juoksun aikana Kukka kiehnäsi ja esitteli itseään Rikulle ja Ikelle, unohti välillä Mimosan ja Helinälle on alkanut kehittyä äidinvaisto joten raahasi kerran Mimosan pentuhäkkiin ja alkoi imettämään tätä, Mimosa ei pannut pahakseen vaan nautti tilanteesta. Kun Kukan juoksu loppui ja itse neiti närkästyi kun Helinä-mamma otti Kukan lapsukaisen hoiviinsa. Helinä on alkanut hoivata Mimosaa viime viikosta lähtien ja jatkaa edelleen vielä. On välillä huvittavaa nähdä kun Helinä juoksee Mimosan perään kun tämä seikkailee muissa tiloissa kuin pentuhuoneessa ja pinkahtaa heti igluun jos Kielo alkaa närkästyä kun emo on poissa pesästä. Taitaa Helinäle kasvaa pian harmaita karvoja näitten lapsukaisten kohdalla. Kukka halusi ja haluaa edelleen auttaa Helinä-mammansa myös Kielon hoidossa mtta Helinä ei vielä hyväksy Kielonsa Kukan hoidettavaksi. Eiköhän tilanne muutu lähiaikoina kunhan Helinä on ensin “rauhoittunut” Kielon hoivamisesta.

Mimosa will full 1 week old on tomorrow. She’s very active kitten and big heartbreaker so I decided to give to Mimosa an “Official” name: FI*Silvercomet Heartbreaker. Mimosa grow up every day very well, she was 210g on today morning (bithweight was 115g). Hopefully it continues also very well with growing up. Everything is now fine, Kukka is very careful mom what’s fantastic. Helinä, Mimosa’s grandmom, visited to also to see Mimosa and she maybe keeps Mimosa also her kitten; wants to take care about Mimosa, too. Helinä’s due DOB with my 11. litter 4.4.2011 with Wispa (UK* IC Chocolatedot WIspa).

Meillä on nyt pentu pitkän odotuksen jälkeen! Perjantaiaamulla, 4.3.2011, mitään ei ole tapahtunut vaikka kaikki synnytykseen viittavat merkit ovat “täyttyneet” (maito laskeutunut nisiin 65. vrk:na, kuume laski asteen 66. vrk:n aamuna ja synnytyssiteet löystyneet jo 65. vrk:na). Kukka oli välillä myöslevoton edellisenä yönä joten käytiin Kukan kanssa lääkärissä. Otettiin RTG-kuva ja siellä näkyi yksi iso pentu, kenellä on sen verran isokokoinen pää, että ei mahdollisesti mahtuisi normaalisti lantiosta ulos. Lääkärin kanssa päätettiin sitten, että tehdään keisarinleikkauksen. Leikkaus tapahtui kahden aikaan iltapäivällä ja maailmaan putkahti silloin kaunis suklaatäplikäs tyttö, Mimosa! Painoa löytyi 115g, mikä on todella hyvä paino pennulle.

Kotiuduttiin väsyneen ja huonovointisen emon ja Mimosan kanssa kolmen jälkeen. Kukka voi todella huonosti lääkityksen takia (rauhoittavaa & herätyspistosta), oksenteli ja kuolasi paljon pitkin iltaa ja onnistuin ujuttamaan Mimosan välillä nisille. Kukka on ihan ihmeissään, mutta liian väsynyt huomatakseen asian murinnan saatteessa. Kunnes keskiyön jälkeen Kukka alkoi piristyä, syödä ja pestä itseään. Ojensin Mimosan Kukan nisälle, suuttui ja murisi pikkuiselle. Välillä sain kuitenkin Mimosan nisille 10-15 minuutiksi kunnes Kukka vetäytyi pois. Tilanne alkoi olla toivoton aamuvarhaisena, pikainen konsutoinnin jälkeen annoin Kukalle kipulääkettä aamulla klo 7. Vähän ennen kahdeksaa Kukka urkki hieman viereltäni Mimosaa, kuka oli vieressäni sohvalla, alkoi pestä tyttöä sekä ohjasi nisille onnellisena - luojan kiitos! Ensimmäinen yhteinen onnellinen perhepotertti:

Nyt Kukka huutelee välillä minua katsomaan kaunista tytärtä, Mimosan muut sukulaiset sekä Danni kävivät kylällä, Ike-isukki on selvästi ihastunut tyttöön; halusi kovasti päästä häkkiin tutustumaan Mimosaan, Helinä on taas ihmeissään, että nuinko hän on nyt mummo? Milli, laumamme kuningatar, Mimosan isomummo, tarkkaili tilannetta tyytyväisenä, että kaikki on hyvin. Tutustuminen tapahtui suljetun häkin edessä; häkissä on siis Mimosa kuten kuvasta näkyy:

Haluan kiittää vielä lämpimästi omaa eläinlääkäriämme, Mari Karjalaista, kaikista avuista sekä Guttatuksen Marjo Vormistoa neuvoista, joiden avulla meillä tilanne on nyt harmoisen rauhaisaa. Ei ole mikään maailmassa voittanutta kuin se, että näkee vastasyntyneen pennun emon nisällä - emo onnellisena.

How long we will have to wait for the birth of the kittens? It’s a good question to me and Kukka and also to some of people who are also waiting for birth hardly.

I noticed that Kukka is now a bit difficult to be, the stomach is already big. Kukka is doing the nest and often throughout the day. Kukka’s temperature has dropped to one degree today in the morning, it is also a “sign“ that the birth is approaching. Succession, yet the situation overnight and on next morning I will call the vet a for consultation.

But again, I look forward to still with Kukka and other my ocicats would like the situation changed on this night. :)

2nd of March - now it’s 65th day with Kukka’s pregnancy. I am now with Kukka in work room, which is therefore kitten room Kukan and Helinän for future kittens. I slept the previous night, two really bad, because Kukka wanted to verify that I am definitely awake. Last night, Kukka began to make the nest pillow, on blanket, under blanket and a bit of everything place.

This morning I discovered that the uterus was slightly open, so hope for the best, that would result from the kittens are coming soon! Ultrasound showed one kitten, but I suspect that they seem to be two sides could be seen as both kicks and movements of the kittens. So we are waiting and waiting ..:)

While this is 10. litter in my cattery, but each time feels like a really long wait! The Kukka is now calm, in the range of very restless, walking around the kitten room, begging for my attention, eats, purring and talks a lot. Well, the waiting time is known to be long so it goes to this day:) I hope that today, at least the kittens come into the world as I could get to go to work tomorrow.

So, now, then just have to settle for waiting for the kittens. With Kukka ….

CH Silvercomet Rock Crystal, OCI ns 24

Hopefully, this picture tells more than thousand words. Our girl seems to be pregnant, the calculated time is less than a month remaining. Guess the only way that really excited me this upcoming litter! Both parents are silvercats so I hope that we are going to silver kittens in early March.

Kukka now eats like a small elephant and constantly begging for more food, and this is clearly visible signs of pregnancy so can now see that the number of kitten coming from there, guess that would be coming to a medium-sized litter. And this is also sort of our “celebration litter,“ it will be the 10. litter in our cattery since 2005.

Our sunny girl, mother of the Kukka, Helinä, will come back to home on tomorrow, she’s flying to Oulu from Helsinki with my friend’s coworker. Hopefully, the trip was a success even Helinä had quite a showin herself to male when she was visiting on the first night. Mating has proceeded successfully, at least wait for the best so that it would create for us the beginning of April 11 litter.

We are becoming an exciting spring for these two moms. <3

It’s now New Year 2011 and I want at first to wish happy and lovely New Year to everyone.

I believe that the Year 2011 is very interesting time also in our cattery because we moved (finally!) to new home which is very much bigger than before home. The move isn’t over yet, we should still pick up some furnitures from my husband’s parent’s home and try to think how we can decorate our home that cat would enjoy better in the new home. But it seems very good; I cannot sleep very well at first night in our new home because my very lovely and headstrong ocicats decided to test what like their a new rally crossings is in our home - one of these walked around my head when I was sleeping… We have also big window in living room where have also big window level and 4 of 6 ocicats were there and watching what was happening in outdoor. I believe that the window level became one of favourite place to my ocicats to following differents birds and their living outdoor.

We have also now one ocicat more than usually in our home because my very beautiful silverbreeding came back to our home to trying mate better with her wonderful boyfriend, who lives with us. She’s CH Silvercomet Rock Crystal, a ebony silverspotted ocicat female, who is very sunrise and hot female - she’s like very much than her mom who lives also with us; IC Silvercomet Audrey Hepburn, “Helina”. It’s nice to following 3-generations life, too; Rock Crystal’s grandmom is our famous and praised queen; EC Guttatus Basia Mille, DM. I call Rock Crystal better on this name; Kukka (it means also flower in english).

Kukka and our gentleman, Iceman, spent lovely and hot honeymoon last week and I really hope that we have kittens start of March from this combination! I tried mate these before but nothing was happened so I really that now would like happens something positive; Kukka becames pregnancy but now is very early to say do we have kittens or not. I had been always dreamed to mate ebony silver spotted ocicats each other when I started to breeding ocicats since 2003 and now it is possible, after 7 years dreaming! Hopefully my dream will be true start…

Iceman, my lovely “mom’s baby” had been living in Finland already 2 years - he came from Australia to Finland 8th of DEC 2008. It was very lovely to follow how he became big male - he’s 6,5kg heavy male almos he’s stud, usually studmales don’t eat very well because they maybe haven’t to time to think to eat because they would be dreaming so much about sex…? He’s very great, lovely, charming male, who can shows how much he loves her “mom” almost he’s a big male. We have some ways what we usually to do every day; before when I will go to bed and start to sleep, I washing my tooths with Iceman, he wants always to help me to washing my tooths, he put his paws to my toothbrush and shaked it with me. <3 I really must to please Jukka to film it some day and will share it with you. It’s very funny but, actually, it’s also my and Iceman’s intimate moment to spend time. The second way is when I came to home after the very hard day and I lied on sofa at same time when I called Iceman. When he’s coming, I’ll lie better and very down because he likes to kisses and purring on my stomach some moments before he will start to sleep on my stomach. I see that Iceman is really mom’s baby, if I’m some days away from home for example for meeting/working/etc, Iceman missed me. When I came to home and I usually calls my ocicats by name when I closed door behind me, Iceman was always the first cat who came and meows to me before he will jump to my lap to give kisses to me. I cannot believe better way to come to home than this! <3

Australia, the country where Icemas was born, belongs very much to Iceman’s life, I saw it very much when I spend more time with my baby. He usually sleep on day and is activie on night - I understand it because when we have a day, in Australia it’s night. It is also a short period in year what I and Jukka hate; Autumn. It means that in Australia it’s spring and Iceman started usually calling females, sprays, etc… It would happens some days in a day or once a day. He stopped thinking to eat, too. Luyckly the situation is now better, he’s more sociable, lively and is also more hisself than the time when he’s thinking sexs quite all time of his day on Autumn… I and Jukka have a togheter “a joke” ; when Iceman started to wake up and pleases attentions after 9.00 p.m = it’s a early morning in Australia. It’s quite funny to see that he still lives with Australia’s rhythm almost he had been living over 2 years in Finland. But I don’t complain from this - it’s Iceman’s persona and all the cat is very fantastic! But he doesn’t enjoy very much in cat show - in there shows he became very, very shy big male. I got once the funny comment from one judge; “you’re really baby, you cannot show yourself without your mom”. It sounds very funny but it is also true. Now I try to following more smaller cat shows where I can show Iceman, not so often, maybe 2-4 weekends in a year, it’s OK to Iceman. I haven’t also busy to make him for Super Champion, because we haven’t so big problems with his sprays (*knocks also to my head myself…*). He’s very different cat at home than in cat shows. Iceman is also my “superman”, he gave very much energy to me, I was and am very busy with school and working, etc, because hopefully I will graduate from Business School on June 2011. Something I felt myself very stress and very tired but usually Iceman comes and purring, kisses and talking with me to gaving positive energy to me, it’s lovely to own a special cat. I don’t know what I would like to do without Iceman. He stoled a little piece from my heart when I got his to my arms in Helsinki-Vantaa airport when I picked up his and now, after 2 years, he stoled all my heart.

I really hope that we have so lovely kittens as like than their father, Iceman, and as like hot than their mom, Kukka, soon. I’m sure that kittens are very beautiful and so lovely - as like their parents. *is dreaming still….before than kittens will birth*

Riku has now a friend in a “neutr-club”; his mom, Milli (EC Guttatus Basia Mille, DM) is sterilized, too. It was hard bite to me because I know how much Milli loves to take care about kittens after the birthing and she is one of super mom what I have never meet. She has very big heart to share it to her babies, luckly we have also Milli’s babies at our home; Riku and Helina. And hopefully Milli will became soon great-granmom when Kukka will birth kittens and I’m sure that Milli is a cat who would like to take care about kittens as soon as possible with Riku. Both love very much babies.

We have also second litter planning on this Spring to Helinä. Her boyfriend is a import cat from United Kingdom; IC UK*Chocolatedot Wispa. Wispa is very charming blue spotted gentleman with big heart. He’s very brave, sociably, playing and he’s also a cat who loves peoples. Wispa lives in Onnikatin- cattery. It is very interesting to see what like kittens they will got because Helinä is very big female (5,5kg and very muscular - as like than male!) and Wispa is also very muscular and big. One blue spotted male kitten of Wispa (Onnikatin Blueberry Boy) is very big when he was 6 months old - if I didn’t know his age before so I would like to believe that it is adult male. This combination is very interesting and promising, too, and I’m waiting it very hardly.

Now I have some days holiday (until SUN 01-09) and after the holiday I’m again busy with school, work and extended essay so don’t wonder if I don’t answer to your email as soon as possible, but if you have something questions or other which you would have got answer better/as soon as possible, it would like to best to send SMS to me. The SMS number has also in my homepage. I know that my Silvercomet- homepage is quite out-of-date, I did new homepage, but it’s only for finnish. I try to transfer it to behind my domain name with my friend when I have better time - hopefully as soon as possible.

Hei ja tervetuloa, Kesä! <3

Ihanaa kun kesä lähestyy, odottelemme sitä innoissaan, koko Silvercometin pooppo. Vielä kun jaksaisi muutaman viikon verran koulua minkä jälkeen voikin siirtyä kesälomalle. Toivottavasti päästään grillaamaan kesällä omalla kotipihalla, asunnon haku on edelleen ajankohtaisena. Ei vaan tunnu löytyvän mistään ostajaa kodillemme sekä sitä “omaa taloa”. Mutta toivossa on hyvä elää.

Meillä kaikki, paitsi Mary (Silvercomet berry Spring, steriloitu suklaasavu naaras), viime syyskuun pentueesta ovat muuttaneet uusiin koteihin. Mary-neitokainen kaipaisi edelleen Sitä Omaa Kotia, missä voi sulostuttaa elämää. Tyttöpienen luonne on uskomattoman ihana ja valoisa. On älyttömän rohkea ja ystävällinen. Vauhtia välillä riittää kyllä aika lailla, mikä on normaalia oceille! Marya on elämä kohlinut aika lailla; tältä murtui oikea takajalka paper bone diseasen takia joulukuussa 2009 hieman ennen luovutusikää, mutta maaliskuussa lääkärikontrollikäynnin yhteydessä tyttö sai täysin terveet paperit ja pikkuinen on myös steriloitu samalla käynnin yhteydessä.

Tyttö on hurmannut kaiken, mutta tällä on ollut todella epäonnea uuden kodin suhteeseen; tälle tarjoutui monta ihania omistajaehdokkaita, mutta kaikki peruivat viime tipalla että tyttö huomasi olevan suruksensa ainoa sisaruksista kuka on vielä vailla kotia. Ike-isukki on toisin iloinen että hänen Prinsessansa on edelleen isukin hellässä hoivissa. Mary on meilläpäin “diplomaattinen” tyttö; aina jos meillä kränäillään niin Mary on aina se, kuka tulee väliin ja keskeyttää riidat ennenkuin ne alkavat. Tyttö on erityisesti hulluna keltaiseen huiskaleluun jota tyttö valitsi itselleen POH-KISin järjestämästä Seinäjoen näyttelystä VIPetin myymälästä. Aina kun nostan huiskan esiin niin Mary on salamana paikalla ja saalistaa huiskaa suurella mielenkiinnolla aina siihen asti kunnes hengästyy - ei silti malta lopettaa vaikka makoilee hengästyneenä. Välillä on pistettävä huiskan piiloon seuraavaa leikittämiskertaa varten.

Mary on valmis muuttamaan uuteen kotiin heti, tyttö saa mukaansa kassin, jossa on paljon ruokaa (mihin on tottunut syömään), leluja, hoito-ohjekansio, yms. Unohtamatta keltaista huiskalelua, joka on tämän lempilelu. <3 Haluaisin todella, todella kovasti pitää prinsessamme itsellämme mutta minulla ei ole mahdollista tehdä niin minkä takia toivon että tyttö saa eritäin ihanan ja rakastettavan kodin missä on myös muita kissoja tai koira seuranaan sillä Mary viihtyy todella paljon lajikumppaninsa seurassa. Peuhailee myös mielellään meidän vuoden ikäisen Rottweiler-nartun kanssa että on tottunut myös koiraseuraan.

Meillä pidetään nyt taukoa pentuesuunnitelmien kohdalla kunnes olemme löytäneet kodin minne asettua sekä Jaana perheineen ovat muuttaneet uuteen taloon syksyllä minkä jälkeen on pentueiden aika. Suunniteilla on seuraavat pentueet:

Sijoituskodissa Kellossa;

-odotettavissa hopeaväriset pennut sekä kaikkia mahdollisia värejä.

Silvercomet- kissalassa Oulussa:

Emo: IC S*Wagga Wagga’s Pussy Galore, OCI b 24

-emo kantaa diluutiota ja kanelia sekä kaikki värit mahdollisia.

Meidät löytyy myös tulevana viikonloppuna Tampereen PIROK- näyttelyssä. Minulla on siellä mukana kaunis hopeatäplikäs naaras (Silvercomet Rock Crystal) ja suklaatäplikäs naaras (Silvercomet Victory’s Lady). Tervetuloa nykäisemään hihnasta juttelemaan!
